” Hopper Bottom Silos offer versatility and fast assembly as also being a cost-effective solution. The use of hoppers is proven to be the best application for frequent product unloading cycles without leaving residual material in the silo, thus minimizing the use of mechanical unloading equipment.“

Alapala offers two different hopper options 45° and 60° with a wide diameter range from 3.6 to 14.55 meters, providing the best solution even for wet products and with high friction angles.

45-degree hopper silos are available with capacities up to 5,342 m³ the 60-degree hopper silos are offered with capacities up to 1,218 m³

The profiled stiffeners carry the vertical load of the silo to the compression ring. Connection elements consist of strongly bolted splice joint plates with a large crosssectional area, as being very critical elements in stiffener design.

Hopper sheets, compression rings and support steel are hot dipped galvanized. Hopper sheets incorporate mushroom-headed bolts on the internal surfaces to ensure maximum cleanliness inside the silo. Smooth wall hopper silos for non-free flowing materials can be supplied upon requirement.

Support structure for truck loading is also available.

Structual Elements

SIDEWALL LADDERS &PLATFORMS

Sidewall ladders and platforms with safety cages & handrails are manufactured from galvanized steel to comply European standards.

Ladders and platforms have a specially designed non-slip deck and walking area. Platforms can be supplied to provide access to the roof access manhole with vertical ladders to the catwalk if required.

SNOW BARRIERS

Manufactured from galvanized, profiled & perforated steel sections, snow barriers can be offered to be fitted to the roof eaves.

WIND RINGS

Curved, galvanized tubular wind rings with flanged joints which are connected to the sidewall stiffeners, provide continuous circular reinforcement around the silo. Wind rings can be supplied for high wind speed or any other special load conditions.

GRAIN LADDERS

Sidewall-mounted grain ladders are offered as shown, to reduce the risk of damage for grains and cereals during the loading operation.

GRAVITY SIDEWALL DISCHARGE

Chain operated gravity sidewall discharge outlets can be supplied together with access platforms & ladders to suit most models of Flat Bottom silo if requested.

Sweep Augers

Compact models with walking plates. Direct transmission by gearbox within the silo.

CST TYPE : 30, 40, 50 T/h from FP06 up to FP18.

CSTF TYPE : 30, 40, 50 T/h from FP18 up to FP26.

FSA TYPE -RUBBER TYRE: 50, 80, 100 T/h from FP20 up to FP36.

Higher capacity sweep augers, special material for abrasive products (i.e. paddy rice) and ATEX standard motors can also be supplied upon request.

Roof Vents

Flat bottom silos can be supplied with a number of different roof vent designs to suit any requirement. Low profile, curved & powered vents are all offered to fit over pre-punched apertures in the roof segment, which incorporate a pre-formed lip with a special gasket to provide a weather tight seal.

Aeration Systems

Alapala can offer a level floor aeration system to suit the complete range of model Flat Bottom silos. Optional pre-formed steel troughs to cast into the silo base, are available at additional cost. ‘Fullfloor’ aeration aeration as well as ventilated cones are also offered to suit a wide range of Flat Bottom Filos.

FIXED VERSION

Electric centrifugal fan, medium pressure type for ambient air aeration. Complete with steel balanced fan, 3 phase 380/420 v 50 Hz IP 55 electric motor, PVC flexible sleeve, diam. 400 mm, L = 2 m, clamping band, outlet transition.

MOBILE VERSION

Electric centrifugal fan, medium pressure type for ambient air aeration; mounted on tires and equipped with handgrips for easy handling. Complete with steel balanced impeller, 3ph 380/420v 50hz IP 55 electric motor IE2, electric cable L = 10 m with the plug and control panel, PVC fl exible sleeve, dia. 400 mm, L = 2 m, clamping band, outlet transition.
